It's better to be happy than to be rich.

It’s better to be happy than rich.

My brother was sleeping rough on the street until he won a million pounds. He’s now spending money like there’s no tomorrow. As a result, our family has fallen apart. So in my opinion, it’s better to be happy than rich.

My brother spent all his money on nothing but rubbish. Example one: he bought a mansion that he doesn’t even like living in. Example two: He bought three cars and he can only drive one at a time!  So the other two just sit in the garage, costing him money; that’s basically a big waste of money.  My brother wasted all his money, now he’s back on the streets.

Happiness brings families together, money divides families. My brother was filthy rich for a year and money tore our family apart because he didn’t spend any of that year with us. My brother ignored us, but we tried to talk to him. He wouldn’t let us. In fact, during the year he didn’t have anything to do with us. My mother cried all day and all night until he came back to us after he’d spent all his money.

If you’re happy you are free. On the other hand, if you’re rich people will be your friend for your money and bribe you for hundreds and thousands of pounds. People you don’t even know will come after you for your money because they want the money for brand new houses that they don’t need. I personally think that children of rich people often get spoilt. If you want to put your children at risk of getting kidnapped, then get filthy rich and show off about it. You could be putting your life at risk and your children might get kidnapped for a ransom.

My brother lives with us now. He has learnt his lesson. He got a job and a beautiful wife. Last year they had a healthy baby boy. They only have one child and a nephew (which is my sister’s). So it’s better to be happy than rich. We may not be the wealthiest family in the world, but we have our wonderful family, lots of love and a better life.
